Rangana thittu pakshi dhama in Mysore

Rangana Thittu also famously known as 'Pakshi kashi', is a bird sanctuary located in Mandya district Karnataka, located around 130 km away from Bangalore. and if you are coming from Mysore, it's just around 19km away and 3km away from Srirangapatna. It is lying on the bank of River Kaveri and is home for most of the birds.

It is spread in around 40 acres of area and is said to be the largest bird sanctuary in Karnataka   

If you are planning to visit Mysore and places around, then this is one of the must-watch places.
and it's a perfect destination for Bird lovers.

Some of the birds that you can spot here are shag, white ibis, Little Egret, little cormorant, open-billed stork, Spoonbills, painted stork, White Ibis, river tern, Darter, Peafowl, Pond Heron, Wild Duck, large cormorant, heron, great stone plover, kingfisher, Cattle Egret, the lesser whistling teal, Indian cliff swallow Great Stone Plover, River Tern, of Streak-throated Swallows and many more.

Along with all sorts of birds, this place also is a home for animals like crocodiles, monitor lizards, mongooses, otters, and others in the river.













The entry fee for this bird sanctuary is 50rs for Indians and 300rs for Foreigners and there is a boating facility available in this place to watch the birds nested. 

For Boating too it costs around 50rs for Indians and 300rs for Foreigners.  The boating and nature around it definitely can be awesome and unforgettable experiences for nature and bird lovers.
